An important part of recordkeeping is also proper disposal of all those financial and confidential documents and at the appropriate time.
For financial and tax-related statements and paperwork, we recommend keeping those in a safe place for seven years. But after seven years, it’s time to get rid of them safely. Shredding is a quick and easy way to accomplish that. Be proactive and make shredding a priority. Don’t hold documents longer than needed. For privacy and security and to protect yourself from identity theft, shredding is the best way to make sure that confidential docs are properly disposed of.
RetirePath Advisors is hosting a Shred Day at our new Fremont office on October 1 from noon to 3 p.m. as a service to our community.
The event is open to everyone and is a free service; simply drive up, and we will take your boxes of materials straight to the shred truck. It’s a great way to clean out your storage space, and your materials are shredded right in front of you.
Staples and envelopes are allowed, but please remove any other metal from your materials.
RetirePath Shred Day is also for a good cause. For each vehicle that attends our shred event, the Thrivent Member Network – Nebraska Region has graciously offered to donate $10 to Aspire for Greatness. Aspire is a new local after-school and summer program serving youth in the Fremont area. For more information about this great program, visit aspirefremont.org/.
(For each vehicle that participates in this shred event on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 12-3 p.m., the Thrivent Member Network – Nebraska Region will make a $10 donation to Aspire for Greatness. Maximum of $1500 will be donated.)
